A full day of fun at Maan Farms in Abbotsford
Jul 19, 2015
What began as a family fruit stand has expanded into an adventure playground! Plan to spend an entire day at Maan Farms in Abbotsford and the kids are sure to fall asleep on the drive home.
You’ll be greeted with a farm fresh market and bistro, a winery complete with fruit and grape wines, and a patio for relaxing with lunch. On our visit, we sampled the homemade soup and sandwiches and washed it down with some berry lemonade, made fresh each morning from Maan Farms’ own berries.
Start or end your trip to the farm by taking advantage of the seasonal berry u-pick. You’ll likely eat a few along the way and everyone will get a little exercise and fresh air.
If you’ve brought wee ones along with you, they’ll be happy as clams with the Critter Coral; the petting zoo just beyond the market. Get up close and personal with the goats, rabbits, pigs, chicken, and lamas, then take turns on the slides and in the play area. Don’t be surprised if the Maan Farms’ goats decide to tag along, their enclosure allows them to wander and climb right nearby.
A huge play structure, bouncy pillow and climbing web lie behind the barn for extra fun. The pedal cart racetrack, zipline and tire swings are new this year and will be a hit with kids of all ages.
Come mid August, the corn maze opens, with the pumpkin patch following in September. October also features a nighttime corn maze with flashlights and a haunted (zombies!) corn maze for teens and adults.
Circle back through the market on your way out and grab some farm fresh produce, Maan Farms jams or syrups, fresh baked pies or some wine. The kids will be fast asleep by the time you get home and you can enjoy a glass of wine and piece of pie while remembering the day.
